The Dallas Mavericks added Kristaps Porzingis last season as their second star. The Latvian was impressive but injured himself again during Mavs series against the Los Angeles Clippers.
The Mavs star suffered from a tore meniscus in Game 1 of the series against LA Clippers. He was a huge miss for the team as Luka Doncic‘s effort was not enough and they crashed out in 6 games.
The 7’2 center made his return to the court for the first time yesterday. Understandably, the 2017-18 All-star was very happy to be back in the court after a lengthy layoff. He took to Twitter and wrote, “Felt good to be back on the court today.”

The Mavs will be hopeful of their star’s return. In their number of games starting with each other, Porzingis and Doncic have looked like a lethal duo. If healthy, the team can be a real challenge to any team playing against them.
What can the Dallas Mavericks expect from Porzingis?
The Dallas Mavericks had a good 2019-20 season. A player like Porzingis was a significant addition to the roster. The duo of Porzingis and Doncic was very effective in scoring against any opposition.
The Latvian is currently recovering from a torn meniscus and will miss the start of the season. The Mavs will be vary of the fact that Porzingis has been injury prone since his debut and won’t try to rush him to start a game.
The 7’2 center has already shown his offensive prowess averaging 20.4 points, 1.8 assists and 9.8 rebounds. Till his return, though, the team can use some backup in center Willie Cauley Jr. or even new signing James Johnson.

The changes in the roster have made the team much stronger. They lacked defensive solidity in the team, but now with the additions of Josh Richardson and Josh Green, the team will be much stronger defensively.
When Porzingis returns with full fitness, the Mavericks will be a much better side, both offensively and defensively. If he stays fit, he can be one of the best centers in the league.
