Kevin Durant is probably one of the greatest players of this generation. People forget how dangerous he was during his time with the OKC Thunder. He had plenty of weapons around him in Golden State, but every Finals series, he showed what he was made of. He has two Finals MVPs with the Warriors on his mantle as proof of his accomplishments.
KD left the Warriors under contentious circumstances. It was all traced back to KD’s inability to fit in with Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and especially Draymond Green. However, former coach Steve Kerr sat down with The Ringer’s Logan Murdock to talk about Durant.
“I would say Kevin is … when you factor in everything, size, speed, athleticism, I think he’s the most talented basketball player I’ve ever seen in my life. It was more just a level of basketball that I’m not sure had ever been reached before.”

Kerr also spoke about how it was to coach a player as talented as Durant. “He was very coachable. He was a sponge, especially the first year, he wanted to learn a new style. I think he really enjoyed playing the way we played, and he was really easy to coach. When a star makes it easy, for a coach to do his job, he just allows everything to click.”

Kevin Durant with the Warriors
Kevin Durant did exceedingly well with the Warriors in his two seasons there. Even though he left the team on the injury table, his achievements the two seasons prior to that vindicated his decision to join them. KD joined the Warriors in 2016 after they lost to LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals. The Warriors would then win the next two seasons, sweeping an awful Cavs team LeBron dragged to the Finals in 2018.

KD missed most of the 2019 Playoffs due to injury. He tried returning in the Finals series against the Raptors but ended up tearing his Achilles in his final game with the team. Durant averaged 25.8 points and 7.1 rebounds in his three seasons with the Warriors.
KD joined the Brooklyn Nets last season and is yet to play a competitive game for the team. He and Kyrie Irving have lofty ambitions for another title for themselves.
