In the Orlando Bubble, the LA Clippers failed to achieve anything significant. Not only did they exit the Playoffs in the 2nd round, they choked a 3-1 lead as well.
Due to this meltdown, they were bombarded with criticism from media and fans. However, this doesn’t mean that the LA Clippers are not a championship caliber team. They still have their two superstars Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, leading the team.
ESPN commentator Jeff Van Gundy shared his thoughts about how the media perceived teams in the NBA Bubble in a recent interview.

“The one thing that I think that you have to be careful with everybody, the teams, coaches, but also media. I think you can overreact to what happened in the Bubble and I think you can under-react to what happened in the bubble.”
Van Gundy supported his argument by comparing the performances of the Phoenix Suns and the LA Clippers in the NBA Bubble.
“For instance, everybody right now is Phoenix is gonna be great. They went undefeated in the Bubble plus they added Chris Paul. On the other end, the Clippers, they were awful in the Bubble.
“Were they really that bad? When you think about it they got up 3-1 against Denver and they didn’t play well in those 3 games. But when you look overall at the Clippers, they are still a championship caliber team.”
As Van Gundy stated, the Clippers are a championship-caliber team by all means. If they can sort out their chemistry issues, it will be a delight to see them play.

The Clippers are definitely in a win-now mode. They parted ways with a lot of funds to pair George and Leonard together. If the franchise fail to win it all this year, it could mean the end of their good days.

As both PG13 and the Klaw have player options after the 2020-21 NBA season. Accounting all things, their goal must be to win an NBA championship and that too in this season. Otherwise, with the lack of future picks, they would have a hard time rebuilding.
What do you think about the Clippers? Will they be able to bring out their A-game this season?
