Jeanie Buss Wants to Celebrate the Epic Milestones of LA Lakers and Dodgers in a Unique Way

Life in Los Angeles as a sports fan is fantastic right now. Tinseltown is once again title town. In 2020, the LA Lakers won the NBA Championship for the first time since 2010. Along with this, the Los Angeles Dodgers also won the MLB World Series.

The Lakers entered the NBA Bubble and stormed their way through the Western Conference. They beat the Trailblazers, Rockets, and Nuggets in respective gentlemen sweeps to make it to the NBA Finals. In the Finals, they beat a young and dangerous Miami Heat team in six games to win their 17th NBA Championship.

LeBron James and Anthony Davis were the driving force behind the championship win while veteran players such as Rajon Rondo, Dwight Howard, and Danny Green played an important role throughout the playoffs.

For the Dodgers, they beat the Tampa Bay Rays in six games as well, to bring the trophy back to LA for the first time in 32 years.

The City of Angels has been thirsty for championship success for the past few years. The success of neighboring Bay Area teams such as the Golden State Warriors and the San Francisco 49ers over the past years was difficult to watch. Los Angeles has always been a championship city, and to be deprived of success for almost a decade was too long for them.

LA Lakers – Dodgers ‘Co-Parade’

Obviously, celebrations have been put on hold due to the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic. There can be no parades and public celebrations with large gatherings due to the major health risks involved in the process. But fans will be waiting for when it is safe to gather in large numbers. Whenever that time comes, expect the city of Los Angeles to party like there’s no tomorrow.

Los Angeles is a historic sports city, and it is great for the sporting world to have them be back in the championship echelon once again.

Los Angeles Lakers president Jeanie Buss spoke to Arash Markazi about the possibility of a celebration in Los Angeles. Buss said she wants a combined celebration between her Lakers and the LA Dodgers and said, “My dream would be to have a co-parade with the world champion Los Angeles Dodgers as well. And all of the fans of Los Angeles can celebrate together. But not until it is completely safe.”

Buss has been instrumental in her role as President of the Lakers. The work she has done with Magic Johnson and Lakers GM Rob Pelinka allowed them to bring the championship duo of LeBron James and Anthony Davis to the Lakers.
