Believe it or not, this offseason will be the hardest on the Los Angeles Lakers. Why? Well, there are plenty of reasons. Having won a championship, they will be under the most pressure to defend their throne. Then, with the trade coming up, the franchise has to decide whether they want to stick to the original roster who got them their title after a decade. Or should they make some changes?
If it’s the latter, this puts the fate of many of their players into question. It is speculated that many players will opt-out of their contracts, which will lead them to test their value during free agency. JaVale McGee is one of them, who played at the center position for most of the 2019-20 campaign.
However, it looks like he is already dropping hints about where his future lies. As per Jack Flemming of the L.A. Times, McGee has sold his L.A. mansion. Yes, the one he had brought from Marc Anthony, the Latin music star.

“It’s been a great month for JaVale McGee. Just a few days after winning an NBA championship with the Lakers, the big man has sold his Encino home of five years for $2.49 million,” wrote Jack.

A mere coincidence? Or does this mean something for the Lakers’ center?
We will have to wait and watch to see what this actually means. Is this just a simple business transaction that is bringing him a $70,000 profit? Or is it a subtle way of telling the LA team that he could leave them?
McGee played the first 11 games of the playoffs as part of the Lakers’ starters. Although his spot was eventually taken by Dwight Howard, he had an integral role in bringing them their 17th NBA title. Now JaVale has three titles under his name, two more that he won with the Golden State Warriors in 2017 and 2018.

As LeBron James and Co. prepare for next season’s contention, which might even begin as early as December 22, do they need to worry about JaVale wanting an out?
