Orlando Magic forward Jonathan Isaac isn’t ruling out a return this season. Isaac suffered an injury in January earlier this year during a game against Washington Wizards.

Talking recently on Click Orlando, Isaac said he will continue to work in a hope of making a return but without rushing.

“I think as of right now, I’m going to the bubble. I’m pretty sure I’m going to be in the bubble. Will I be able to play? I can’t put my finger on it now. I’m going to continue to work every single day like I’m getting there [and] like I’m going for it. Hopefully, that crosses paths the right way that it’s able to happen. If not, it sucks.

“But we’ve got time to get back and be completely ready for next season. I’m excited about it. I’m intrigued about what this bubble is going to be like. I’m looking forward to it,” he said.

Orlando Magic would be aiming to take part in post season

Magic are among the nine teams from the Eastern Conference that will make a return as per the format that the NBA recently agreed upon. Prior to the league’s suspension, they were eighth in their conference with 30 wins. They will have their eyes set on the playoffs when the season resumes. To make it to the postseason, they might have to compete in a play-in tournament if required. Their 30 wins is the same as the seventh-placed Brooklyn Nets and six more than that of ninth-placed Washington Wizards.

Isaac, 22, is the biggest prospect on the Magic’s roster. He was their first-round pick in 2017 and many believe, has great potential. His performances before the injury this season have made him a candidate to be among the All-NBA Defensive First Team.

Although he has been out since January, Isaac wants to make an impact for his team. He talked about it during an appearance on The Full 48 podcast last week. He said he wanted to be the best defensive player in the league and become a player who could help his team.

“I want to help my team win to the best of my abilities,” he said.
