The 2013 NBA Finals saw the Miami Heat making history. The team had beat the Oklahoma City Thunder the previous year to win the franchise’s second championship. By entering and winning the 2013 Finals, the Miami Heat became just the sixth team in NBA history to win consecutive titles. Who was the Finals MVP due to his stellar performance? LeBron James.
The Heat posted the best record in the regular-season and were way ahead of the other Eastern Conference teams. LeBron James, with a point average of 26.8 in 76 games, won the regular-season MVP award, his fourth and last to date. He became the tenth player to achieve the feat of winning both possible MVP awards in the same year.
The San Antonio Spurs proved to be a major roadblock in Miami’s quest for two in a row. A stacked Spurs squad having the likes of Tim Duncan, Kawhi Leonard, Manu Ginobili, and several others, tried to hinder LeBron James and Dwyane Wade from achieving back-to-back championships.

Both teams played see-saw with each other till Game 6. The first matchup of the best of seven series was won by the Spurs, followed by Miami’s victory in Game 2. A similar pattern followed until the series decider popped up. A 37-point effort by LeBron James in Game 7 secured the victory for the Miami Heat as the scoreline read 95-88 at the end of the fourth quarter.

In a video posted by Bleacher Report, we can see James displaying his heartfelt emotions. When a journalist asked him how he handles the pressure, Bron’s emotions began flowing out. “Listen, I can’t worry about what everybody say about me,” he said, as the crowd roared with cheers.
“I’m LeBron James from Akron, Ohio. From the inner city. I’m not even supposed to be here,” LeBron added. “That’s enough. Every night walk I into the locker room and see a #6 with James on the back, I’m blessed. So what everybody’s saying about me off the court don’t matter. I ain’t got no words,” James expressed.

For instance, in the 2013 Finals, LeBron James led his team in every major aspect. He played seven games and topped the points, steals, assists, and the rebounds chart in the Heat’s roster. We should feel lucky to have witnessed such a level of dominance and greatness.
