Can there ever be a definite answer for the never-ending GOAT debate? It seems unlikely, although some believe it’s LeBron James and some think it’s Michael Jordan. As several players, fans, and analysts continue to debate this endlessly, Dino Radja has a very different opinion on the matter.
Dino Radja is a former Croatian basketball player. He was part of the Jugoplastika team during the late 80s and early 90s, helping them win two FIBA European Champions Cup. Radja has also spent three and a half seasons with the Boston Celtics and became one of the European pioneers of the league. He is a Hall of Famer, who has a surprisingly unique take on the Jordan and LeBron GOAT debate.
“When the comparisons between LeBron and Jordan start, I vomit,” he argued. “My son assures me that LeBron is better but for me, it’s not a discussion. If he had played twenty years ago, LeBron wouldn’t have been able to do even half of this. Today, when LeBron enters the paint, everyone moves away from him, but Jordan was getting beaten like no one and he still dominated. In front of LeBron were Kobe Bryant and some others. I respect LeBron but Kobe was better.”

Kobe Bryant over LeBron James?
Comparing Kobe and Bron is inevitable. Both entered the NBA right after high school, established their dominance very early in their career, and have had a massive impact on the league.

Speaking about Kobe Bryant, he was a more complete player, no questions asked. This meant he was more versatile than Bron. Yes, James’ explosive power makes it almost impossible to guard him, but he lacks instinct, unlike Kobe.

Bryant was also the better defender. It’s a proven fact that defense helps you bring home titles. Yes, the team must be good offensively, but a better defense increases your chances even more. Kobe was named 12-times in the NBA All-Defensive team, while LeBron has been named only six times.

These might be a few of the many reasons Dino felt the way he did. However, whether the GOAT is LeBron, Kobe, or Jordan still remains a point of contention.
