The hype is very much real for the Michael Jordan documentary, ‘The Last Dance.’ Episodes one and two released last week which gathered an outstanding response. Now, everyone is eagerly expecting the arrival of the next two episodes in the 10-part documentary. 

One such person who is all pumped up for the release is Klay Thompson, the star-guard of the Golden State Warriors. Thompson, who is recovering from an ACL injury, posted a video on Instagram, unable to contain his excitement.

The 30-year-old took to Instagram to post a video of him meeting Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen. He remembers it as the year 1997 or 98. Thompson would have been an eight-year-old kid at that point. He, along with his two brothers was taken by his father to the players’ tunnel before a Bulls match. 

“We were just waiting to see Scottie and Michael so bad. I don’t think I said a word,” Thompson shared, through his video on Instagram. He remembers being starstruck by meeting his heroes, Jordan and Pippen. Both players were in their prime, charging the Bulls toward their sixth NBA title.

The Bulls duo met Thompson and his brothers and signed autographs for them, making it a memorable day for the kids. “Just the fact that I was able to be there and meet the legend himself, was so motivating for me,” he shared. 

Thompson stated how proud he was of meeting Jordan in his prime. He remembers going to school the next day, telling all his friends about his incredible experience. “It was truly an honor and something which I’ll never forget.”

An eight-year-old Thomson after meeting Michael Jordan was even more motivated. He was so inspired by watching Jordan play and likewise he became a special player in the league as well. There’s no way Jordan would have predicted the success he would achieve back then.

Thompson has three NBA titles with the Warriors and he is a five-time All-Star as well. Thompson and the Warriors broke the best regular-season record in the NBA in 2016. They went 73-9 during the season. MJ and the Bulls previously held the record winning 72 games and losing just 10 in 1996.
