As the offseason continues, NBA teams are digging up memories from the past to share them with the fans. Reliving clips from the past always hits you with nostalgia and makes you emotional. That is exactly what former veteran Jameer Nelson felt when the Orlando Magic posted his career mixtape. 

The Magic posted a flashy highlight reel of their former player who spent ten years with the team. Jameer Nelson had an 18-year career and he played for six different teams in his time at the NBA

The 38-year-old was overwhelmed by his former team’s honorary post and expressed his emotions on twitter. Here is what Nelson wrote after seeing his highlight reel:

“The dunk was all I needed to see. I miss playing. I wish I could’ve finished my career in an @OrlandoMagic uniform. It’s only right!” Nelson clearly misses playing for the Magic, and moreover he regrets his decision of retiring with the Detroit Pistons. Nelson is an underappreciated legend at Orlando.

Though Jameer Nelson failed to win a championship in his career, he has achieved a lot to talk about. The 6-foot point guard possessed an extraordinary game with his shooting and dribbling skills. He is one of Magic’s all-time best players, but people don’t often talk about him. 

Though fans don’t appreciate Nelson for his contribution to the Orlando Magic, the stats never lie. Jameer Nelson’s name can be found in almost every list of Magic’s all-time record holders. For instance, Nelson ranks 4th in the all-time list of points scored for the team.

Coming into the NBA through the 2004 draft, he was immediately traded to the Magic after the Denver Nuggets selected him as the 20th overall pick. Nelson still leads the Magic’s all-time assists chart with 3,501 to his name. 

Apart from these, Jameer Nelson has his name etched in every important aspect of the Magic’s history books. Nelson’s name is present in the all-time steals, three-pointers, and blocks list. His name will certainly be there within the top 10, which is a huge achievement, considering that so many legends have played for the team that is based in Orlando.
