The Boston Celtics selected 6’6” Jaylen Brown as the third overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft. Since joining the team, Brown has improved gradually and was averaging a career-high, prior to the season’s suspension. His 20.4 PPG has proven to be a game-changer for the Celtics this season.

As Brown checked into his hotel in Orlando, he took a serious decision. The 23-year-old realized the main purpose of his visit and wanted to ensure that his focus doesn’t shit from it. Thus, when Brown recently got into a zoom call with reporters, he revealed his decision to stay away from social media for a while.

“For me, I’m just trying to find a routine to just pass the time,” Brown said, as per Tom Westerholm of Mass Live. “I’m not trying to be on social media. I deactivated my Instagram account, not because I feel like it is a distraction. But until I get a routine, I want to not pick up bad habits and things like that. Just being a video game or etc.”

Brown wants to develop a routine inside the bubble

The Celtics have been chasing their 18th NBA championship for many years now. A decade has gone by without the famed Boston team getting their hands on the Larry O’Brien trophy. Though the Lakers have made the most appearances in the Finals, the Celtics stand tall as the franchise with the most titles.

Thus, Jaylen Brown wants to fulfill the purpose of the visit. Winning the title is the first priority. “I feel like we’re down here with a purpose. I want to educate myself,” Brown said. “Spend time doing research, spend time talking to my teammates or other people in the NBA trying to figure out how we can all come together and use our time to divert our attention to things outside of basketball.

“While we’re down here, we got nothing but time. So I’m trying to make myself available to any players that are around and might have questions or anything they want to build off of, and also my teammates as well. So we can figure out ways to put our heads together and be a part of change.”
