The Houston Rockets have been under fire after another upsetting exit from the Playoffs. James Harden failed to rally his team to glory, and they missed out on yet another shot at the Championship.

With that, several experts are expecting a major rejig before the 2020-21 season. However, Eric Gordon thinks these changes aren’t needed.

This is going to be Gordon’s fifth season with the Rockets, but just like Harden and Russell Westbrook, he is waiting to win his maiden NBA title. And Gordon believes that their team is great, all they have to do is work on their chemistry.

No rebuild needed for Houston Rockets?

Gordon appeared on the ‘Ashley Nevel Show’ and justified why he isn’t expecting a roster rebuild in the offseason. “We’ve always been a team that’s had high expectations.

“Since I’ve been here, I’ve seen it for the last four years. You can’t forget, every team that we lost to, they ended up winning the championship,” said Eric.

He mentioned what exactly went wrong and what all they need to fix within the existing team. He asserted, “For us, we definitely need to find ways to get over that hump.

“The chemistry could be better.… For us, we made a lot of changes last year. We went small ball halfway through the season.… In the playoffs, it’s all about matchups.”

“We’ve just got to be able to rally around the same group of guys, and build on more chemistry, and try to get better,” said Gordon.

“Try to utilize everybody to play at their best. I think that’s going to make us better in the long haul. I don’t think they’re going to rebuild this team.

“This team is good. I don’t care what a lot of people say, it doesn’t matter. Injuries and whatnot, we’ve seen it all here. We still win 50+ games, and we’re still going to be right there in the Playoffs.”

What will the franchise do?

The Rockets have some tough decisions to make. Without their former Head Coach, Mike D’Antoni, who helped shape them, it’ll be even tougher. With a capped-out roster and Gordon’s extension deal, it won’t be easy even if they wanted to make those big changes.

Gordon shot a career-low of 36.9 percent from the field last season, but they could have a chance if he bounces back. However, they still need ample changes to battle it out with teams like the Los Angeles Lakers, Golden State Warriors, and become championship contenders.
