Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr has never shied away from criticizing President Donald Trump. On Sunday, Trump had a speech at the Tulsa Rally in Oklahoma. Following that, he faced a lot of backlash for failing to address many important issues. Once again one of the loudest among these critics was Kerr.
Kerr took to Twitter to bash Trump, “There were so many directions he could have gone,” he says going on to list what Trump could have spoken about. He ended his tweet with a call to the people. “THIS is our president????? We deserve better. Register to vote.”
There were so many directions he could have gone- Covid-19, unemployment, the murder of George Floyd, systemic racism, global warming, etc. Instead he chose the ‘whiny victim’ route. THIS is our president????? We deserve better. Register to vote. https://t.co/zMdYhSBOMh

A few days ago, Kerr also called out Trump’s obscure remarks on Colin Kaepernick. After exiling him from the league due to his protests, now Trump says Kaepernick should return, “‘But he has to be able to play well.” Kerr replied to him saying, “‘He has to be able to play well.’ Kind of ironic, don’t you think?”
Last month, Kerr had also said that “racists shouldn’t be allowed to be president,” and Kerr also laughed when Trump announced he was thinking about leaving Twitter.
LeBron James may be the biggest player activist, but Kerr could one of the biggest coach activists. He has also spoken about many other issues like gun violence and the poor treatment of immigrants in the country. His association with gun violence and control is personal since he lost his father to an act of gun violence back in 1984.

The NBA season might be resuming next month, but the Warriors will not be in action after finishing with the worst record in the league. They missed their stars Steph Curry and Klay Thompson for a majority of the season, but poor performances from the squad led to them hitting rock-bottom. With a lottery pick next season, along with the returns of Curry and Thompson, the Warriors will again be a feared team in the West.
