Golden State Warriors seem to be planning for a high draft pick this season. While it is unclear when the lottery or the draft would take place, they have reportedly made their choice. Bleacher Report reported that 19-year-old prospect James Wiseman is their top priority.
Last month, Warriors coach Steve Kerr talked about what they would be looking for in the draft. He said that they would have to choose between players who make an immediate impact or make long-term plans.
“What we have to weigh is — are we looking for a player who is gonna help immediately because we feel like we’ve got this window the next few years? Are we gonna use the pick in a trade to try to trade for a vet who is ready to help us win right away?”

Further, Kerr said, “Or do you look at it long term — because you know you want to be good for the next decade — and you take a young player with a lot of potentials who’s maybe not ready to help us win yet but you feel like could be a great player down the road?”
“Those are all options and that’s what we have to figure out as an organization.”

It is unclear what kind of option Wiseman would be.
James Wiseman could complement Stephen Curry & Klay Thompson for Golden State Warriors
One of the biggest prospects in the 2020 draft class has been LaMelo Ball. However, with the likes of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson in the team, it is difficult for Ball to get a go in the team if the Warriors do pick him.

On the other hand, Warriors have just one Center- Kevon Looney. Wiseman could own the position if he has a good start to his career. He would also be a good addition to the Warriors side, which is looking to get back to winning ways. With roster changes and injuries, the Warriors had a dismal 2019/20 season. Prior to the league’s suspension, they had the worst record in the NBA.
When the Warriors get back to full strength, Wiseman could easily complement the likes of Curry and Thompson.
