Steve Nash is all set to make his debut as head coach. However, the team that he will lead is already under tremendous pressure. Everyone is curious and is predicting how the Brooklyn Nets will fare with superstars like Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving on their roster.
Durant is arguably one of the best players in the league. When he was at his peak with the Golden State Warriors, it looked like nobody was better. He is an irrepressible scorer and defensively great too. However, his torn Achilles led him to miss the whole 2019-20 season but is expected to make his comeback the following season.
Irving established a reputation with his three-pointer in Game 7 of the 2016 NBA Finals which led the Cleveland Cavaliers to win a championship against the Warriors. His ability to make impossible shots during clutch moments are like none other. Therefore, both Durant and Irving have the potential of future Hall of Famers, but do they sit well in the Brooklyn Nets?

According to Jay Williams, it should be neither a championship nor a bust. He said, “Kevin Durant is coming off an Achilles injury. The only player I’ve seen come off an Achilles injury and come back the way he was, or better, was Dominique Wilkins. Really, the only one.
“I am a Nets fan and I will tell you. We get to the Eastern Conference Finals, I am okay with that. If they lose, I’ll be disappointed, but that’s trending in the right direction with a lot of new pieces. Kyrie, Spencer Dinwiddie, Caris LeVert… But I do feel like the way the Nets talk.. that’s why I’ve compared them to the bad boys of Detroit Pistons back in the day. They are going to talk trash.”

He reiterates Irving’s comments about Durant being the only one hitting shots like him, despite playing with LeBron James. LeBron has won his fourth championship, so these comments are baseless. “I can’t wait to watch these matchups,” said Jay. “I can’t wait for the world to see how these two go after each other. Now, it feels like it won’t be a championship or bust year for the Nets because of the way they are talking.”
Managing a star-studded roster will be an enormous challenge for Nash. Although, we can only wait and watch if the Nets can walk their talk.
