Back in the mid-2000s, LeBron James was rising to the stardom and establishing himself as one of the best players in the league. During the 2006 playoffs, LBJ and Cavs were facing Gilbert Arenas led Wizards, and the Cavs won the series in six games.
However, there was something unusual about that game in overtime. Arenas was on the line and could have put the game to bed. But he choked and missed both free throws as Cavs won the game by a single point.
LeBron James said something to Arenas before the free throws and apparently, it was the reason Arenas missed from the charity stripe. Agent Zero revealed what James said to him on the Fubo Sport podcast.

“I was balling! I was balling in that fourth quarter and we made a miracle comeback, down three I hit almost like a thirty footer to take us to overtime. And I kind of got a little tired in overtime but got to the free throw line…I am about to hit these, this is easy. And when he [LeBron James] tapped me, he’s like you know, if you miss these, that’s game.
“For that one second, I became human and thought about it. If I missed these, he’s going to win…and I missed them both.
“I sat in the gym, took two-three thousond free throws, and then I even took it a step further and went with a guy named Frank in San Francisco. He trains militaries, black ops, you know all mental stuff, and I went to him just extra to make sure my mental is just focused”
This story by Arenas clears the air regarding the mystery that fans have been wondering for years. And it proves even a very few words can do great damage.

While Gilbert Arenas has been retired for almost a decade, King James is on his way to another NBA title. James and co. hold a 2-0 lead over the Nuggets in the WCF and have a chance to extend it to a 3-0 lead.
James is still playing great even at 35 years of age and with Anthony Davis as his second option, they are on the path of glory. They are just six more wins away from winning it all.
