A Message From The Heart Delivered By Giannis Antetokounmpo

Antetokounmpo took to Twitter recently to post a heartfelt message from his family. He thanked all doctors, nurses and other workers for putting their life on the line. The tweet, originally posted in Greek, translates to the following:

“As a family, we feel the need to thank all our young heroes, doctors, nurses, all those who risk their health, to get back to our normalcy and the people we love as soon as possible.”

Admiring their heroic act, he said: 

“Know that you give us strength and that this act of self-sacrifice is a precious dowry that will accompany us forever. Friends, let us do our duty, we stay home to make the work of our heroes easier.”

Contributions Made By Giannis Towards COVID-19 Relief

The Greek native, along with his family, has been doing everything he can to help those in need. He recently donated 10,000 surgical masks to a neighborhood in Athens to help combat the coronavirus outbreak.

Apart from this, ‘The Greek Freak’ also pledged to donate $100,000 to the workers at the Fiserv Forum. He made this generous donation to help part-time workers and laborers are struggling because of the league’s suspension. He stated that he is making this donation to the people who make his and his teammates’ life easier.

Every team out there in the NBA is on a mission to help their arena workers. They are the ones who perform their duties tirelessly during game days. Players like Zion Williamson and Antetokounmpo were among the first ones to rush to the aid of their arena workers.

The COVID-19 pandemic has spread largely around the globe, affecting millions. In this time of uncertainty, the best advice would be to respect those who are putting their lives on their line to prevent the spread. Like Giannis said, staying indoors is the best way we can help them.
