“Future MVP”: NBA Legend Hails Lakers’ Anthony Davis for his Incredible Game-Winning Buzzer Beater

The Los Angeles Lakers won Game 2 of the WCF in spectacular fashion! Anthony Davis was outstanding on the night and emerged as the Lakers’ hero. The team is now unbeaten when they sport their ‘Black Mamba’ uniforms, and AD’s game has reached MVP level caliber, says a future Hall of Famer. 

Anthony Davis shone bright when the Lakers needed motivation during the final quarter. The Nuggets rallied back in the game and took a one-point lead. But Davis carried the purple and gold, scoring all of the team’s final ten points. 

He ended the game with 31.0 points and 9.0 rebounds, and hit the game-winning three, which miraculously beat the buzzer to give the Lake show a two-point victory. Following this performance, praises flew in for AD from everywhere, and Dwyane Wade’s tweet caught our eyes. 

Wade tagged AD and mentioned that “he shut us all up.” Moreover, the Miami Heat legend recognizes the immense talent in Davis and asserted that he is bound to win an MVP award in the near future. “Wow! That was Big. He is playing like the future MVP of this league,” Wade wrote. 

Moreover, AD’s buzzer-beater is incredibly special to him and the entire Lakers faithful for one significant reason. The 27-year-old made the incredible shot and yelled ‘KOBE’ in honor of the fallen legend. He unquestionably had the Mamba in his mind throughout the game which inspired him to produce this moment of magic.

Not often do we see a three-point buzzer-beater that seals the game. But this year’s playoffs have been special. Luka Doncic did it in the first round, and now, Anthony Davis stunned everyone with his effort. 

In fact, AD is the only seventh Laker to hit a game-winning buzzer-beater in the NBA playoffs. The first one to do it was Jerry West, and now Davis is on the list, right after Metta World Peace. 

After the game, coach Frank Vogel explained that Davis’ shot resembled a lot of Kobe Bryant in it. “We want to embody what Kobe Bryant stood for and honor his memory… that’s a shot Kobe Bryant would hit. AD flying to the wing like that, catch and shoot with the game on the line, the biggest moment of the season, nothing but net? That’s a Mamba shot,” he said. 

With the Lakers taking a 2-0 lead in the series, an NBA finals appearance after 10 long years almost seems inevitable. LeBron and AD are proving to be a dominant duo, much to the satisfaction of the fans. Can they take a step further and bring home the championship to Los Angeles?
