Former NBA Champion Ridicules Any Possibility of Miami Heat Beating Lakers in Finals

Miami Heat switched gears in Game 3 of the NBA Finals as they defeated the Lakers 115-104 to enter the series 2-1. Jimmy Butler recorded a 40-point triple-double, making it one of his most phenomenal performances of the career.

In the absence of Bam Adebayo and Goran Dragic, the responsibility of the team entirely fell on Butler’s shoulders. He did complete justice by leading Miami against a star-studded Lakers lineup. The offense, defense, and the momentum added up to a complete victory for them.

The Miami Heat had an expected comeback

There were significant contributions from Tyler Herro, Kelly Olynyk, and others. Butler was on a roll with 40 points, 13 assists, and 11 rebounds. Moreover, the Heat dished out Anthony Davis in the first half of the game with numerous fouls to his name.

It was an embarrassing loss for the purple-gold. But as the series stands in favor of the Lakers even now, how far can Butler take his team in these Finals?

Jimmy Butler cannot make the ‘perfect’ game happen again, says Perkins

Former NBA champion Kendrick Perkins listed out Miami from the possibility of winning this title.“He’s (Butler) instilling confidence into his team and rightfully so after that performance that he put up yesterday. But do I believe that he can win the series? Absolutely not,” Perkins said on ‘The Jump’.

Perkins agrees with most people about Butler’s exceptional gameplays and leadership, but denies that he could do it again and again. “I mean if you look at it, Jimmy had to play perfect. He had a perfect game last night in a way that he dominated on both ends of the floor and I just don’t see that happening [again].”

Did Lakers’ somehow contribute to Miami Heat’s win last night?

The fact remains that the Lakers had 19 turnovers that led to their downfall in the match. Perkins considers Lakers’ mistakes as a contributing factor to Butler’s win.

“By the way, the Lakers helped them out with 19 turnovers…The Lakers came out flat. They came out like they was in the scrimmage and the Heat came out desperate,” he added. “The Lakers did not match their intensity and I just don’t see the Heat playing this extremely well to beat the Lakers in any more games in this series.”

Well, no doubt, that was a complete letdown for LeBron James and co. But as they move to Game 4, the Lakers will make a solid comeback. Can Miami Heat restrict that heavy force once again?
