In the game of basketball, there have been a plethora of sensational players over the years. Each decade saw few players dominate across the league, but when it comes to the GOAT debate, two names pop up more than the others – LeBron James and Michael Jordan.

James and Jordan have been battling for this spot for years. Although many consider Jordan as the GOAT, James has been right behind him to dethrone him. However, there is one thing that MJ’s corner uses over Bron, it’s the spotless 6-0 Finals record.

Cleveland Cavaliers guard Collin Sexton became the most recent NBA player to weigh in on this heated argument. Sexton shared his thoughts when he appeared for an interview with Bleacher Report.

“There are three of them, you can’t really say one is the GOAT because of the different time eras. Gotta say Kobe, LeBron, MJ. Don’t think there’s just one person, don’t know how LeBron would’ve played in MJ’s era or Kobe in MJ’s era. They’re the GOATs in their eras.”

This is actually a very good answer by the 21-year-old. Most people overlook the late legend Kobe Bryant‘s name when they discuss the greatest player of all time. Kobe won five NBA championships in his 20-year career with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Is Collin Sexton the future of the Cavs after LeBron James and Kyrie Irving’s departure?

LeBron and Irving helped the Cavs to compete for most of the 2010s decade. Moreover, the duo, along with Kevin Love, bought the first-ever ring in franchise history in 2016. But soon after that, the team fell apart as Kyrie forced his way out to Boston and James departed for the Lakers.

Collin Sexton could be the next big thing for the Cavs as he averaged a solid 20.8 points per game while knocking 47.2% of his shots. One might wonder if that brings pressure on his shoulder, but the Young Bull remains unfazed from the expectations to replace the two superstars.

“Not at all. I just go out and play my game. I love to compete and have fun, I don’t try to put that pressure on myself. I just do what I do, I don’t wanna be anybody else but Collin Sexton.” Sexton told Bleacher Report.

Only time will tell if he will live up to the expectations or not. On the other hand, LeBron James and the Lakers will defend their title next season, while Irving will attempt to return to the big stage, this time with the Brooklyn Nets.
