There are some players who do not enjoy the limelight mostly because of their team’s lackluster performance. John Wall’s association with the Washington Wizards is somewhat like this. This is probably why it falls to Wall’s opponents, such as the Nuggets’ Jamal Murray, to show him the respect he deserves.
John is into his 10th season in the NBA since the Wizards picked him #1 in 2010. He was so good that he averaged a crazy 16.4 points, 8.3 assists, and 1.8 steals in his rookie season itself. Still, it took him four seasons to see the Wizards reach the NBA playoffs, which was ultimately to no avail. Nevertheless, he ensured three conference semis for the franchise and is still going strong.

Nuggets’ Jamal Murray shows his respect for the Wizards’ great
Recently, Nuggets’ guard Jamal Murray sat for an interview where he talked about bouncing back from being 1-3 down twice in the playoffs, 2020, and much more. He also talked about how John Wall almost always dominated him with absolute ease.
Murray said, “He would let me drive by him and poke the ball from behind. I think I had 8 turnovers that game, bro…”
Jamal Murray says John Wall ‘bust his ass’- “He would let me drive by him and poke the ball from behind. I think I had 8 turnovers that game, bro…He didn't even move, he just kept stealing the ball from me and getting run out dunks." Via @21Blackking @QRich @PlayersTribune pic.twitter.com/22clTpsBK2

Head-to-head, the two players met on only three occasions. In all the three regular-season games, the Wizards comfortably defeated the Nuggets. John averaged a whopping 21.3 points, 3.7 boards, 9 assists, and 2 steals and Jamal fell lower on every single parameter.
It’s no wonder the Blue Arrow kept missing his target whenever the 5-time NBA All-star was pitted against him.

Will John ever leave the Washington-based franchise?
Unlike Murray, who is very well-seated in the Nuggets’ squad, John Wall’s position in the Wizards seems to be dwindling. He missed out the entire 2019-20 season because of a scary Achilles’ injury. As a result, the Wizards remained 25-47 in the regular season. Now, the franchise has shown interest in acquiring Russell Westbrook from the Rockets by handing them Wall because the two have almost identical contract numbers.
John brings with him great athleticism, a speedy game, on-point passing and rebounding skills, and quick hands. All this can be good enough for any team to sign this player who has been extremely consistent with clean records all his playing career.
