The Brooklyn Nets are attracting all the eyeballs in this off-season. After trading for Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant in the previous off-season, they have been linked with James Harden in this one. Harden is not happy in Houston and has rejected his ‘super-max’ extension. The very thought of seeing these three stars in the same lineup is a mouthwatering prospect for their fans and is something that could almost guarantee them winning the league.
Why does Harden ‘Not Belong’ with the Nets?
Nets’ ex point-guard Kenny Anderson is firmly against that idea. He believes that they already have the right resources within their team. Speaking to Brandon Robinson, he said:

“He’s an awesome player, but NOT a good fit for the Brooklyn Nets. So you know; they got Kyrie, they got Kevin Durant, and let’s build around those two guys and let out young guys grow with [Spencer] Dinwiddie there, [Caris] LeVert; we got an excellent team and a young nucleus.”

Another important thing to note is that the Nets are going through a complete makeover with their coaching personnel. Though the likes of Mike D’Antoni and Amar’e Stoudemire have to been hired to help out, Head coach Nash doesn’t have any prior experience. Anderson said, “Steve Nash is a rookie coach; First-year … let him build and I think we’re gonna be good this year coming up. But with Harden, he would’ve changed all of that a little bit. I really believe that.”

Brooklyn Nets should invest in Caris LeVert
Kenny also is of the idea that the team should focus on young Caris LeVert as their shooting guard instead of Harden. He put up excellent numbers in the absence of ‘KD’ and Kyrie last season. Not only did he score 50 points in a game but also posted a triple-double. Clarifying that he wants him to be the ‘Third Star’, Anderson said:
“He’s playing very well–now with Kyrie and Kevin Durant there, this guy is gonna be awesome for many years to come. LeVert can shoot the ball and put the ball on the floor, penetrate, has great size, he can pass the ball…he can do it all.”

The former All-star has a point. Having the ‘Beard’ would be like having too many chefs in the kitchen. That may not end very well for them. The Nets should focus on building around the team that they have and contend for the title within a couple of years.
