The Boston Celtics are one of the top contenders for the NBA title in the Eastern Conference. In the last few seasons, they have proved that they have the talent to make a deep playoff run. However, they seem to be missing a piece or two from finally winning it all after more than a decade.
This offseason, the Celtics added Tristan Thompson to their roster. The 29-year-old has championship experience and can become a voice in the locker room. However, it seems like this much-awaited debut for the team will have to wait.
ESPN’s Tim Bontemps recently reported that he will be forced to watch a few games from the sideline due to an untimely injury.

“Brad Stevens gives a couple of medical updates: Tristan Thompson has yet to practice in camp, and Payton Pritchard “had a finger pop out” on his left hand.
“Says he hopes Pritchard’s return is “sooner rather than later” & Thompson grows more unlikely for opening night by the day.”
While the Celtics do have Daniel Theis, who can fill the void left in the wake of Thompson’s injury, it is definitely bad news for the Celts as their star point guard Kemba Walker is already set to miss the first few weeks of the season.
These injuries might slow the team down and hinder their chances of bagging a good start. Considering the competition in the Eastern Conference this year, each win matters.
Will these injuries stop them in their tracks? We will find out in the coming weeks.

Moreover, after the last year’s playoff run, their stars have plenty of playoff experience under their belt as well. So if they can stay on track and maintain fitness, the Celts might not only become the Eastern Conference Champions but bring home the glorious NBA trophy.
