Legends are immortal, and when they’re sporting legends, they’re godly immortal. We, fortunately, have many of those NBA Champions from the late 60s and 70s amongst us. But there is a name that was drafted in 1956 and is going strong in 2020, Bill Russell. The Boston Celtics legend has achieved tremendous success and accolades in his professional life.
The defense maestro is now 86-YO and still has his humor game strong. Recently, a fan on Twitter totally forgot that he is a ‘living’ legend. Bill noticed the post and decided to correct the fan and totally outwit him.

When champion Bill Russell had to ‘prove’ he is breathing
A fan tweeted, “Smart sent Melo’s s**t and kept it in bounds. Bill Russell is looking down from heaven smiling.”
He perhaps had no clue that Bill was well alive and indeed had not dreamt that Mr. 11 Rings will notice his tweet. The savage response to the aforementioned tweet read, “Just in case anyone cares, I am still alive, at least I was the last time I checked.” Even funnier, he asks for former Celtics player and NBA analyst for ESPN, Paul Pierce’s help in letting the fan know about his alive status. Have a look at the entire thread here…
Just in case anyone cares, I am still alive, at least I was the last time I checked. I’m watching @celtics vs @trailblazers @NBA @NBAonABC Hey @paulpierce34 can you let them know I’m still hanging in there https://t.co/McGp25rdvd

In the August 2 game between Boston Celtics and Portland Trail Blazers, the former won after a very close 4th quarter clash. At one point, the Celtics were 21 points ahead, but Blazers made a great comeback only to lose it all in the last 03 seconds. Jayson Tatum had 34 points on board while Jaylen Brown got another 30. For Blazers, Jusuf Nurkic and Damian Lillard pulled a 30-each brave show.
Boston Celtics icon is surely riding high!
With that Celtics win, they are third in the eastern conference and looking very strong. Bill played for the Celtics for 13 long years. That was a golden era for the franchise that won 11 championships with Bill by their side. He is also a five-time MVP and a 12-time All-Star. He later put on the cap of a coach for the teams like Seattle SuperSonics and Sacramento Kings.
