In a rematch of Sunday’s encounter, the Denver Nuggets take on the Minnesota Timberwolves once again. The Wolves play host at the Target Center, and the game will be at 9 pm EST. Both teams come into this game with the same unimpressive 2-4 record. So both of them will be looking for their third win of the season.

Denver Nuggets expected lineup

The Nuggets’ poor form has been shocking. As Western Conference finalists last season, they were expected to have a much better record at this stage. But they have had multiple surprise losses, two of which came at the hands of the Kings. But they beat the Timberwolves in their last game and are likely to use the same lineup.

Jamal Murray and Gary Harris will start as the guards. Will Barton will continue to start ahead of Michael Porter Jr who is out with a COVID strain, and he will be partnered with Paul Millsap. Finally, Nikola Jokic will man the center spot.

Minnesota Timberwolves expected lineup

The Timberwolves started with two wins out of two games but lost Karl-Anthony Towns to injury. Since then, they haven’t been able to win a single game and are struggling to find form. They will miss him once again tonight, and he will be reevaluated this week. The Wolves’ lineup will also be unchanged.

D’Angelo Russell and Malik Beasley will start as the guards. Jarrett Culver and Juancho Hernangomez will start as the forwards, and Ed Davis will be their starting center. #1 overall pick Anthony Edwards has played every game off the bench so far but could potentially displace Culver.

This is likely to be another easy win for the Nuggets. The Timberwolves have the second-worst defense in the league and are struggling to find an offensive rhythm without Towns. In his absence, Jokic has free rein and his triple-double last game showed that. Russell is a poor defensive matchup for Murray and this allowed the Nuggets star to get 36 points on Sunday.

The Timberwolves need Towns to return soon and are likely to stay winless till he returns. Until then, the Nuggets should take advantage of their misery and leave with a win.
