Giannis Antetokounmpo has established a reputation for himself in no time. The 25-YO won his maiden MVP only last year and talks are already hot that he can win it again. He is all set to become a free agent in the 2021 off-season, but this year is far from finished for him.
We have some truly optimistic comments coming in from the Bucks head coach, Mr. Mike Budenholzer. He believes Giannis has done everything that can win him the prestigious recognition this year as well. All this, when the NBA has finally confirmed that the race for Rookie of the Year, All-Star, MVP, Defensive Player of the Year are all over for 2020. This means the performances in Orlando Bubble won’t add up for these.

Is Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks facing no competition?
The Greek freak has built a brand around him. One living proof is the launch of Nike’s ‘Zoom Freak 2’ shoe line. In the future, if this signature line tastes the success parallel to Air Jordan, Giannis would be making a huge name and money for himself.
All aside, an honor of this level is well above any economic deal. The head coach of Bucks feels that Antetokounmpo deserves to win the back-to-back recognition. He told ESPN, “What he does for us on both ends of the court, what he does every night, the way he sets the bar for us, culture-wise, work ethic-wise, just as a teammate. He’s an incredible teammate, plays unselfishly, does everything. And I think that’s kind of what the MVP is, so we certainly feel like he’s very deserving, and we’ll be excited to support him.”
So true, an MVP needs a lot more than just decent statistics to win that award.
Other signs that go in favor of Giannis
In a media survey by ESPN, it was noted that Giannis attracted as many as 60 out of the 70 first-place votes over LeBron James. Giannis’ 34.5 points per 36 possessions remain well ahead of LeBron’s 26.4 on the same scale. His win share percentage also remains high and this signals towards an ultimate winner.

Also, given that he wins another MVP as well as the Defensive Player of the Year award at the age of 25, he will be setting more records. He will then stand next to legendary Michael Jordan and Hakeem Olajuwon to have won both in the same season. But Anthony Davis of Los Angeles Lakers also makes a strong case when it comes to winning the title for defense.
So what would you say? Is Giannis going to win both the accolades or not?
