The Brooklyn Nets took on the fiery Phoenix Suns tonight. After getting off to a 1-3 start, the Suns have then managed to win 15 in a row, and James Harden and co stood in their way for a 16th win. But the Nets were no match for them, as the Suns breezed to a win.
With the game having such high stakes, it was likely to have some heated moments. And this started early, with Harden getting into it with Suns’ Jae Crowder. During the first quarter, Harden dribbled the ball into the Suns half-court before getting double-teamed.
Both Mikal Bridges and Jae Crowder aggressively defended the Beard, who was struggling to hold on to the ball. The Suns almost snatched the ball away from Harden, before Crowder hit the Nets star in the face for a foul. Harden did his best to sell the foul, as he immediately fell on the floor, holding his face.

Despite getting the call, Harden couldn’t hide his frustration and had some words for Crowder. Meanwhile, the Suns’ forward just walked away smiling from the chaos, and prevented it from escalating further.

James Harden unable to step up for the Nets in a crucial tie
The Nets vs Suns game was touted as a clash of the giants. The Suns are the second seed in the West, while the Nets are leading the East. So there were expectations for a close and intense game. However, the Suns were not in the mood for that. Right from the first quarter, they showed they are a class apart, and had a 10 point lead by halftime.
While Devin Booker and Chris Paul did their best to lead the Suns, the same couldn’t be said for James Harden. He shot just 4-15 from the field, when his team needed him the most. He did his best on the glass with 13 rebounds, and also shared the ball well with 14 assists, but he failed to show up when his team needed his scoring.

This is only the Nets’ sixth loss of the season, so they might not be too upset. However, there will certainly be things to reflect upon from this game, and Harden’s inconsistent scoring would be a major keynote.
