The Los Angeles Lakers played hosts to the Chicago Bulls tonight. They were in good spirits after a bounce back win over the San Antonio Spurs in their previous game. Unfortunately, they couldn’t carry that momentum into tonight’s game. And along with the loss, there was also a lot of unnecessary drama involving Anthony Davis and LeBron James.
Towards the end of the third quarter, the Bulls were already up by 20 points. AD was already frustrated with a technical called on him earlier, and the scoreboard made it worse. Unable to control his frustration, he started jawing with the referee unnecessarily, which resulted in him receiving his second technical foul and thereby an ejection.

As Lakers coaches got animated on the sidelines, LeBron stormed onto the court in protest. There were discussions among the commentators about a potential technical for LeBron too, since he cannot enter the court. Bron has often acted like a coach for the Lakers since he has a lot of experience. But this was unnecessary and could potentially result in a fine too.

LA boys give Lakers the work
The Lakers looked lost right from the first quarter and the Bulls took full advantage of that. Every time they tried to regain momentum, the Bulls would immediately go on a run of their own and extend their lead.
The Bulls had four players with connections to LA, and all of them stepped up tonight. Compton native DeMar DeRozan was at his best, as he led the team with a brilliant 38-piece. It was like rubbing salt in the wounds for the Lakers, who chose to not bring in DeRozan in this off-season. And he made them pay for this decision.

Former UCLA star Zach LaVine also had an impressive outing, scoring 26 points. Finally, the former Lakers, Lonzo Ball and Alex Caruso also gave hell to the purple and gold tonight. Caruso was a menace on defense while Lonzo shot lights out. All of them combined well on both ends to help the Bulls win by 18 points.

It only gets worse for the Lakers now, as they have to face Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks next. Although they are struggling too, the Lakers need to go deep into their bag and do better on Wednesday.
