LA Clippers guard Patrick Beverley is a team-first guy. He is the player teammates love and opponents hate. It is due to Beverley assigning loyalties and living up to them strongly. Now that he is one of the few veterans on the Clippers’ team, Pat Bev has taken it on himself to keep the squad motivated.
Backup guard Reggie Jackson narrated a story on the Clippers Zoom press conference.
“We’re all locked up now in quarantine, can’t leave your room, but it’s probably 2:00 a.m. and all we get is a ‘Yoooo! Yoooo!’ Everybody is like, what is going on. Bev is just yelling through walls, making sure everybody is good. It’s the first day, he’s just checking. Everybody opening their doors saying what’s up looked at each other. That made, I guess, the first part of the 24 hours of lockdown even better, just knowing that your teammates were there with you. That’s just something very simple, but the guy is constant energy, a lot of intangibles… He’s great with the team.”

The Clippers will be optimistic after having gotten almost 5 months of rest. Their injury-prone superstar duo of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George will be willing and able to endure through the physical terrors of a playoff run. The worry for them is whether they can do it without Harrell on the team. Harrell has been one of the best sixth men this year, and the team will miss his energy.

Patrick Beverley is the team’s defensive bulldog. He, Paul George and Kawhi Leonard form one of the scariest perimeter defender trios in the league. Beverley is averaging just about 8 points, but his contributions to the team’s success rarely show up on the box score. He is the perfect glue guy for this newly formed superstar team.
