Former Boston Celtics center Kendrick Perkins believed playing alongside LeBron James for Los Angeles Lakers has taken Anthony Davis to the top of his game.

Talking on ESPN’s Get Up, Perkins felt James’ exceptional passing ability is allowing Davis to get into one-on-one situations.

“Anthony Davis never really held his own. Anthony Davis is a certified Robin,” Perkins said. “That’s his role right now. To showcase how James’ passing ability this season, his average of just over 10 assists per game this season is more than anyone else in the league. And the fact that he is doing it at the age of 35 makes it even better. During his best years in the NBA, there were critics questioning whether James could do the same in the Western Conference. Perkins felt James has answered those critics and deserves applause.

James himself has brought this topic recently while explaining where he stands in the MVP race. He felt the position of the Lakers in the NBA this season answers all the questions against him. Even his teammate Anthony Davis praised James for what he has been doing at his age.

The things he’s doing at his age. He’s playing probably one of his best years. Top team in the West. The things he’s able to do on the floor … especially when people were saying he was washed,” Davis said talking to the reporters on Tuesday.

Davis said the team has been working on that aspect of their game inside the Orlando bubble.
