The 2020-21 off-season began with a bang. Multiple huge trades have taken place and a lot more are in the works. According to NBA insider Brandon Scoop B Robinson, the Raptors are also planning something huge to trade up for LaMelo Ball.
The 19-year-old point guard is arguably the number one prospect, with many teams eyeing him. Since the Timberwolves and Warriors are open to trading the #1 and #2 pick, other teams are building up the perfect package to trade up. Robinson believes the Raptors could initiate a three-team trade to get the pick to draft Ball.

They will trade their premier point guard Kyle Lowry to the 76ers, who will send Ben Simmons to the Warriors, and they in turn will send their #2 pick to the Raptors.
So out of this trade, the Raptors can get an exciting playmaker who can be their franchise cornerstone for the future. The Warriors get an elite defender and playmaker who is still young and has a lot to offer. Finally, the 76ers can get a proven championship winner and get rid of a player who didn’t fit their system.

Will the Raptors be able to trade up for LaMelo Ball?
For months there have been faint rumors about the Raptors’ interest in Ball. A player of his caliber will interest almost every team, but the Raptors could seriously move in for him. While Lowry has been a fantastic player for them so far, he is turning 35 next year. So the Raptors might want to move him before he regresses.
It could also be a move to clear cap space for the highly anticipated 2021 Free Agency.
Will the 76ers and Warriors be interested?
The Warriors are interested in moving their pick because they want to compete now and not build for the future. Bringing in someone like Simmons will make them one of the favorites to win the title, so they will be eager to pull the trigger on this deal.
The 76ers’ willingness to accept a trade like this will determine if it happens at all. Simmons has more value than Lowry, so the 76ers will be looking to get more assets along with Lowry if such a trade comes up. New GM Daryl Morey has already spoken about how the 76ers re Joel Embiid’s team, which could mean that they are open to moving Simmons.
