A number of players across the league have bagged big paydays in the 2020 Free Agency so far. Among them is Marcus Morris, who received a 4 year $64 million contract extension from the LA Clippers.
In the 2019-20 season, he had career-highs in points with 16.7 points per game and three-point percentage, as he shot 40% from downtown. Morris was a solid starter for the Clippers, and he also continued his form in the Playoffs, when the rest of the team failed.
While the Clippers have rewarded him for his performances, many people have ridiculed them and Morris for this deal on Twitter. When Eric Hubbs from Barstool Sports tweeted about it, Morris hit back.

Later Hubbs tweeted saying he was terrified, probably thinking about the numerous heated incidents Morris has had on the court. But the Clippers forward just laughed and played it down, saying he had no intentions of fighting.
No bro I don’t want to fight, everyone assumes that 😂😂😂 just telling you check my stats from my last 5 years lol

Can Morris help the Clippers to a better playoff run?
During the 2019 Free Agency, Morris signed with the Knicks. The Clippers traded for him later, following his blistering start to the season.
They had to give up a lot for him like Maurice Harkless along with a 2020 first-round pick, a protected 2021 first-round swap option, and a 2021 second-round pick from Detroit.
It was a gamble to help them win the title. While Morris did his job, the others failed, and they crashed out as they conceded an embarrassing 3-1 comeback against the Nuggets.
Morris is not only a solid shooter, but he also offers a lot on defense. He brings physicality, which has gone overboard a few times. In the Playoffs, he stepped on Luka Doncic’s ankle and picked a fight with him and Kristaps Porzingis. In the next round, he had a fight with Nuggets veteran Paul Millsap too.

But despite that, the Clippers had to bring him back whatever the cost, following the departures of JaMychal Green and Montrezl Harrell. Morris will be hoping to help the team improve this season and have a stronger run in the Playoffs.
