After their worst season in franchise history, the Golden State Warriors will be back stronger than ever. They will be lead by none other than Stephen Curry, who has been a leader for them for years now. He isn’t the most vocal in public, but he gets the job done always. Warriors assistant general manager Kirk Lacob recently spoke about Curry’s style of leadership.

“He’s so competitive,” Lacob said on the Runnin’ Plays Podcast. “Everybody seems this happy go lucky guy who plays with joy, smiling, having fun out there. (But) he’s a killer. He is so competitive. He does a lot of work behind the scenes. There’s a lot more to his leadership than is often seen publicly. I don’t know if that’s by his design or if he’s just doesn’t care for people to see that. For him, it’s about doing it, not other people seeing it.”
Stephen Curry knows what is important for the team
Lacob later talked about how Curry gives his platform to other players when needed.
“He calls on half the team for things he thinks are important, he will go the extra mile”, Lacob said. “There are times when he lets other players on the team be the leader and speak. He’s pretty active behind the scenes. He knows what’s important for the league, and for the team. He knows how to get things done.”
Back in May, Curry himself had talked about his reserved style of leadership. “I’m also pretty selective when I do speak. I’m not the loudest guy in the room, so when I do say something, hopefully, it commands attention and has a presence about it.”

With a few months to go before the Warriors get into action, Curry will be itching to hit the hardwood. He was only able to play five games this season due to injuries. His Splash Brother Klay Thompson also missed the season due to the injury he suffered during the 2019 NBA Finals.
