After Golden State Warriors won the 2017 NBA finals, Durant took a vacation to India. He proceeded to engage in a conversation with GQ’s Zach Baron. Durant informed Baron in that interview that hitting the game-winner over LeBron was one of his fondest memories.

Game 3 against the Cavaliers was a tight one. With under a minute to go, Durant hit a three-pointer which sealed the game. “That was the best moment I ever had,” Durant told Zach. “I made the game-winning shot in the finals against my f**ing idol. Somebody that I really, really, really followed since I was a ninth-grade high schooler. I felt like he was passing the torch to me.”

The Warriors had not lost a single game in the postseason. Moreover, the Warriors led the series 2-0 against Cleveland. Durant’s last-minute go-ahead three-pointer pushed the Warriors to a 5 point victory over the Cavaliers. The final score was 118-113 in favor of the Warriors.
Durant had a vigorous run from the start. He was putting up exceptional numbers on the offensive end. With just 45.3 seconds left in the final quarter, Durant hit the best shot of his life. He did it casually and effortlessly. The shot was jaw-dropping and mesmerizing.
“All I was looking at was the bottom of the net,” Durant said as he reflected on the epic shot, “I saw he (James) was playing his heels behind the three-point line. I’ve been working on that shot my whole life. To see that go in, that was liberating, man. We’ve got one more to go.”

During Durant’s first All-Star game in 2010, The King gave him a warm welcome. LeBron approached Durant during the game and said “You look good in your first All-Star game. God dang you look good. How you feel? You’re part of history, your first All-Star game you get 108,000 to come see you play.”
