Last week, the Houston Rockets franchise was rocked by reports of multiple players being unsettled. Despite Russell Westbrook asking for a trade, James Harden still said he will stay. But now, that seems likely to change.
According to ESPN, Harden is also considering his future with the Rockets. If they lose Westbrook, their chances of contending take a big hit. So that would mean Harden loses his prime years on a non-contending team. So at the top of his destinations to leave for is Brooklyn, where he eyes a reunion with former teammate Kevin Durant. He is also eager to team up with Kyrie Irving.
ESPN also revealed that Harden and KD have discussed reuniting, but there has been no official talk from the front offices. The duo played together for three seasons before the Thunder traded Harden to the Rockets in 2012.

Will James Harden get his dream destination?
If Harden gets his move to the Nets, they could easily be the best team in the league. Two of the best scorers of the modern era teaming up and also having one of the most creative players of his generation? That should almost be illegal. No other team in history would have been so strong on offense as this potential Nets team. Players across the league are already worried about this trade.
I was already over 2020 but if James goes to Brooklyn then I’ll see yall 2022 cause they got 2021 😂😂😂

The glaring problem is how ball heavy they are. While Durant showed how he can play unselfishly on the Warriors, the same cannot be said for Irving and Harden. Both require the ball at all times, so they will have to learn to co-exist in a system.
The reason Westbrook wants out of the Rockets is that he wanted the ball more. So that shows how it is like playing with Harden. While Irving has played as the second fiddle before, it will be interesting to see how he plays as the third option on a team.
However, pulling off this trade will be very hard for the Nets. Not only will they have to give up multiple players to match Harden’s massive $40 million salary, but also give up a host of picks along with them. Harden is an MVP candidate, and there is no way the Rockets will let him go easily.
