The Brooklyn Nets made a surprising decision as they hired Hall of Famer Steve Nash as the head coach. He has no prior experience of coaching but has worked as a player development consultant previously for the Golden State Warriors. So among the first ones to congratulate Nash was Warriors’ Head Coach, Steve Kerr.
Congratulations to @SteveNash and thank you for all your work over the years with the @warriors. You are going to crush it in Brooklyn! @BrooklynNets

In his playing career, he was never able to get his hands on the Larry O’Brien trophy. But during his five-year tenure with the Warriors, Nash won two rings with them. In 2016 and 2017, they won back-to-back rings, giving Nash his first-ever NBA title.
With the Nets, he will be aiming to get similar success. A ring as a head coach will matter a lot more than a ring as a player consultant. He has an exciting team to work with, who did well in the bubble despite not having their superstars.
