A couple of months back, LaMelo Ball left everyone surprised when he signed with Puma. He was part of his family’s BBB brand before, which was the main reason for the fame he has. Naturally, his father was angered by this decision. In the latest episode of ‘Ball in the Family’, one can see how furious LaVar was at this decision.
LaVar was asked if he plans to get his sons back to the brand, but he had a rather strange response to this. “I am not going to talk to them [LaMelo and Lonzo] about coming back to BBB, because they never left,” LaVar said. But later one can see that he got really upset. “You know what, f**k you, imma do it my own way,” he said.

Last month, ESPN’s Nick DePaula reported that along with LaMelo, his brother Lonzo was also on his way out. The Pelicans point guard had already expressed his discontent with the brand and co-founder Alan Foster last year. So with LaMelo leaving, Lonzo could follow suit.
BBB’s run as a footwear brand is over, with both LaMelo & Zo moving on.
However, I still love the concept of Ownership vs Endorsement and always thought the vision was there.
Execution just didn’t hit, but BBB will be an all-time case study. https://t.co/GKRWwhrDOb

What’s next for LaMelo Ball?
While Lonzo is gearing up for the upcoming season with the Pelicans, LaMelo will be eagerly waiting for the 2020 NBA draft, which is on November 18. He’s projected to be a top-three pick, but there’s an outside chance he will drop.
Recently, Pistons GM Troy Weaver said that they planned to have a meeting with Ball, and also mentioned that they were open to trading up from the 7th pick to get their man. LaMelo already had a workout with them earlier. LaVar also seems keen on this move and had mentioned a few weeks ago that he would like to see his son play for the Pistons.
