After months of delay, the 2020 NBA Draft has officially begun. The Minnesota Timberwolves began proceedings with their #1 overall pick. As soon as the picks were being announced, NBA 2K21 revealed the rookie ratings for the top 5 prospects.

Starting with the first pick, the Timberwolves selected Anthony Edwards. NBA 2K21 gave the young explosive guard an 89-speed rating, which is deserving for the former Bulldog. 2K has also given him an 83 driving layup, which is a testament to his adept finishing at the rim. Finally, he also has an 81 mid-range attribute.

With the second pick, the Warriors selected James Wiseman. The former Memphis star has been a monster in the paint, and 2K has done justice to that. He starts with a brilliant 85 offensive rebound attribute and also an 82 shot close attribute. Finally, he has an 80 block rating, proving that he is one of the best rim protectors in the draft which is the primary reason the Warriors drafted him.

NBA 2K21: Fair ratings for the rookies?

Top prospect LaMelo Ball was selected with the third pick by the Charlotte Hornets. Not only is he known for his flair but also for his excellent playmaking. 2K21 has given him an 86 ball control attribute, which is impressive for a rookie. They have also recognized his playmaking skills and have given him an outstanding 86 pass IQ and an 83 pass vision attribute.

The Chicago Bulls sprung a surprise with their fourth pick and selected Patrick Williams. The Florida State star is an excellent defender, and his 76 perimeter defense attribute and 80 help defense attribute say a lot about him. Dubbed the next Kawhi Leonard, he has a mean midrange in his arsenal and has been given an 80 midrange rating.

With their fifth pick, the Cleveland Cavaliers selected Isaac Okoro. He is an exceptional athlete and can drive to the rim with ease. NBA 2K21 has captured this perfectly and has given him an 83 lateral quickness attribute and an 82 driving layup attribute.

The Atlanta Hawks selected Onyeka Okongwu with their sixth pick. The USC forward is a fantastic rim protector despite being just 6’9, and 2K have rewarded him with an 84 block attribute and an 83 help defense attribute for it. Finally, NBA 2K21 also revealed that he starts with an impressive 85 standing dunk.
