Former NBA Player Takes a Sly Dig at Giannis Antetokounmpo to Explain Why the Bucks Aren’t Any Better Than Before

So far in the 2020-21 off-season, the Milwaukee Bucks have been the most active team. They traded for Bogdan Bogdanovic and Jrue Holiday and are doing their best to provide a contending team for superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo. He had announced earlier that his stay depends on what decisions the team makes. So the Bucks are doing everything they can to keep him in Milwaukee.

Former NBA champion Channing Frye recently tweeted about this trade but said it still didn’t make the Bucks better. When asked for an explanation, he had a simple three-word response.

Frye later corrected himself to say he meant shoot rather than score when fans began badgering him in the comments. He also admitted how he had struggled against Giannis back in his playing days.

So far in his seven seasons in the league, Giannis has been averaging just 28% from the three-point line. His inability to shoot has been a glaring weakness of his game. Like Frye mentioned later, both Bogdanovic and Holiday will help to fill out this gap.

Will Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks have an improved playoff run?

The Bucks have sacrificed their bench to give Giannis a solid starting five. The front office is proving that they will do whatever it takes to keep him around. They will be expecting him to reciprocate the effort and lead them to a title.

The Bucks finally got rid of Eric Bledsoe, who didn’t fit their system, and brought in Holiday. They have a similar playstyle but Holiday is a lot better. He is also regarded as the best guard defender in the league by his peers, so he will help them to solidify their defense even further. Holiday can also shoot better than Bledsoe, and that will be a huge relief for the Bucks.

Bogdanovic is a proven sniper and has been an underrated scorer for the Kings. He can close out games too and can be a real asset to the team.

Giannis has key pieces around him. Now, he has to prove that he can lead a team to playoff glory and that he doesn’t need a super team to win a title.
