UNC Backed to ?Smoke? Lakers as NCAA Finals Heats Up

With an iconic comeback, the Kansas Jayhawks beat North Carolina Tar Heels to go win the NCAA Championship. While fans celebrated their victory online, some ended up wondering about the NBA and the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers have been struggling this season, currently not even qualified for the play-in tournament.

As a result of their performance this year, fans wondered if North Carolina would be able to beat the Lakers. Many fans sided with the NCAA team, considering how the Lakers are faring this season.

Can North Carolina take on the Lakers?

For fans, the focus seemed to be on Caleb Love. The UNC player, according to fans, would be the star of the show. Many focused on Love as a player, adding that if they played a series against the Lakers, he would be the best player.

Some even brought up Anthony Davis, who they think would be ‘destroyed’ against the team. Fans seemed to have faith in UNC, as opposed to the Lakers’ current team. Though beating any NBA team will not be easy, users seemed to support North Carolina.

Many made it clear that it was the Lakers’ current performance that was prompting their answer. With no wins and risk of elimination, even James seems unable to carry his team to victory. However, fans continue to have faith in the four-time NBA Champion. Some added that they think UNC can win, provided James (and AD) are not present.

Surely, some people supported the Lakers. Many added that while the team is performing badly, beating an NBA team is no joke. The best of the best make it to the NBA, and players take a lot of time to reach the point where they are.

Can LeBron make the playoffs this season?

Currently placed 11th in the Western Conference, the Lakers can easily be eliminated from the playoffs. Interestingly, this will only be the fourth missed playoff for LeBron James. The team was eliminated during the Round 1 series against the league-leading Phoenix Suns last season, hoping to come back stronger this time.

However, with injuries and other performance issues, the team has failed to make its mark.
