The NCAA tournament dominated the beginning of the year in the basketball community. The biggest star to come out of it this year is Angel Reese. Reese had a brief rivalry with Caitlin Clark which escalated to a point where it became a nationwide debate. However, with the glorious victory, Reese left it all behind and has now become a star.

However, the young star takes the most pride in representing her country every chance she gets. In fact, the LSU star recently fired a powerful three-word message, restating her patriotic feelings.

Angel Reese gets recognition on the big stage

Even at such a young age, Reese is no stranger to attention and star status. Even after her LSU team won the championship this year, the controversy she was involved in helped her name become common in the media. Her on-court beef with Iowa Hawkeyes guard Caitlin Clark was particularly notable.

However, there is one more interesting angle to the nominations. Reese is pitted against her arch-enemy Clark in the same category, Best Breakthrough Athlete. The other two nominees in the same category are Julio Rodríguez and Brock Purdy.

Angel Reese fires up a powerful three-word message

Like every athlete, Reese also feels passionate about representing her country on the big stage. Recently, she posted a picture on her Instagram story stating her intentions for the upcoming challenge. Reese captioned the image, “road to GOLD,” announcing that she is prepared for it. Reese will be representing the country in the 2023 FIBA Women’s AmeriCup which is to be held in Mexico from July 1st-9th.
