NBA superstar Nikola Jokic won the NBA MVP awards in the last two years. The Denver Nuggets star is in the running for this year’s MVP award as well. If he wins the award this year, he will become just the fourth-ever player to win the award for three straight years. The last player to achieve that feat was Boston Celtics legend Larry Bird. Jokic is known for putting up astronomical numbers in games and he has done that this season as well.
The NCAA tournament has taken the sports world by storm, keeping fans glued to their seats with some massive performances. The tournament has also already seen some unprecedented upsets. Interestingly, a college star recently put up numbers similar to Jokic in the second round of March Madness. She has also tied a major existing Southeastern Conference record.

After transferring from Maryland, Women’s basketball star Angel Reese has been performing at the highest level for the LSU Tigers this year. She has been a major reason behind the Tigers’ success in the NCAA tournament so far. In the second round, Reese erupted with 25 points, 24 rebounds and 6 blocks in the win against the Michigan Wolverines.
Only two NBA players put up similar numbers in the league this season: Nikola Jokic and Ivica Zubac. In the Sweet Sixteen matchup against the Utah Utes, Reese equaled another impressive record.

Reese had 17 points and 12 rebounds in the win against Utah. It was her 31st double-double this season. With this whopping number, she has now tied the SEC double-double record.
In the Elite Eight, Reese and LSU will face the Miami Hurricanes. If the forward can put up a similar performance, she is likely to break the double-double record. LSU is considered the favorite to win against the 9th-seeded Hurricanes. However, there are arguably no favorites when it comes to March Madness. It was evident recently when the Alabama Crimson Tide were eliminated by San Diego State.

The Alabama Crimson Tide are eliminated
Before the start of the NCAA tournament, NBA legend Charles Barkley revealed his pick for the winners. He picked the Alabama Crimson Tide to win it all this year. However, he was concerned about the off-court controversy surrounding the team.
Alabama faced San Diego State Aztecs in the Sweet Sixteen. Even though the Aztecs are a great team, many thought Alabama would prevail. But the Aztecs won the game 64-71 and entered the Elite Eight. Crimson Tide star Brandon Miller had a poor outing with just 9 points.
