Giannis Antetokounmpo of Milwaukee Bucks in the National Basketball Association (NBA) was named as the fittest athlete in the world in 2019. Consulting different physicians and performance experts, Sports Illustrated created a list of 50 fittest athletes in the world for 2019 which Giannis topped.
Standing 6’11” tall, Antetokounmpo is currently among the best players in the league. He is one of the favourites to win the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award for the second season running. He has led the team to the best record in the league so far. Giannis has significantly improved since the time he has come into the NBA. He first played in NBA in 2013 when the Bucks drafted him in with the 15th overall pick in the NBA Draft.
He became taller and fitter as the years progressed, and transformed himself into one of the best in the league.

SI ranked Giannis just above Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic among the fittest athletes.
LeBron James & Jimmy Butler also among the fittest list, apart from Giannis Antetokounmpo
Fellow NBA players LeBron James and Jimmy Butler joined Antetokounmpo in the Sports Illustrated’s list of 50 fittest plyers. Butler, 30, has been in the league for nine years and is currently playing for Miami Heat.

Butler earned 16th place in the rankings while LeBron was ninth. Into his 17th season in NBA, 35-year old James is still among the best players in the league. LeBron James has always been regarded as one of the fittest people in the world. His fitness at the age of 35 is an inspiration to many. Recently, UFC superstar Conor McGregor, making a return to UFC, stated that he took inspiration from LeBron’s fitness routine.
McGregor also earned a place in the list at 13 while fellow Mixed Martial Artists Jon Jones was seventh.
