After the release of the first 2 episodes of ESPN’s ‘The Last Dance’, the NBA community got divided into two. There were fans that hailed Michael Jordan and those who felt he had competition by the likes of LeBron James and Kobe Bryant.
Maybe it was just a jab at Jordan, or maybe it was a coincidence, but LeBron’s recent tweet promoting his show poured fuel into the latter fandom’s fire.
Did LeBron James want attention?

The LeBron James Vs. Michael Jordan debate is now an annual tradition in the NBA community. It was pretty obvious that once the Jordan centric docuseries, ‘The Last Dance’ aired, the debate would once more rise.
As expected, it did. Sadly for LeBron, he seems to have made a contribution to it himself. Knowingly or not, LeBron James ended up tweeting at the wrong time about the wrong thing, and invited trouble.
Los Angeles Lakers’ star LeBron James is facing flak for choosing the wrong time to promote the NBC show ‘The Wall’ and its upcoming episode. LeBron is an executive producer of the show.
The veteran tweeted about his excitement towards watching NBC’s game show. Unfortunately, he did so at the same time the initial episodes of the 10-part docuseries were airing.
Oh my! The BIGGEST win in @nbcthewall HISTORY?? Nellie is unbelievable!! 🤯👏🏾 Can’t wait for everyone to see your story tonight. #SFG🚀 pic.twitter.com/tpHfpkvyxt

As fan responses proved, the promotion wasn’t well-received. All of them went off on James for what looked like his ‘strategy’.
Recently, the fact that Jordan agreed to the docuseries when he felt that the Chicago Bulls’ era was in jeopardy, came to light. Since then, Jordan fans seemed to be hungry for something about LeBron to chew or virtually troll.
Some fans asked James to be quiet and watch ‘The Last Dance’ documentary, while others try to remind him that Jordan is the ‘real GOAT’.
From half a world away,

We hope James’ tweet was purely promotional. It must be, as James was one of the people pushing ESPN to release the docuseries earlier than expected.
April 19th can’t come fast enough. I CAN NOT WAIT!! 🗣Yessir!🍿 #LastDance
