“I actually love the attention that Caitlin has brought to the WNBA and I love the attention that women’s basketball is getting.” In June Isiah Thomas dropped a huge support message for the Fever Rookie and her contribution to the league. Earlier this year, during the NBA all-star break, the Pistons legend even claimed Caitlin Clark to be a better 3-point shooter than Sabrina Ionescu and Stephen Curry. Despite the division of that opinion, the fans seemed to resonate with his recent analysis.
Appearing on the OutKick’s Don’t @ Me show, “She’s got it. She’s got what they call the ‘IT’ factor.” The 2x NBA Champion spoke with Dan Dakich. “When she came out of college, everybody was talking about, ‘Oh, she is going to be a great scorer, and she is going to shoot the basketball and going to shoot the lights out.’ And then she unveiled ‘Oh I can drop dimes, too. Oh, I can pass, too.’”

It’s not the only time he praised her. When she broke the assist record as a rookie, Isiah Thomas tweeted, “Let it be known that only a special few in our game’s history can score while assisting teammates.” During the interview with Outkick, he also called her a complete player. He explained that if two people start guarding her, then Clark could find her teammate since one of them will be open.
The Indiana franchise is now 20-19, marking its most wins in a season since 2015. Clark has certainly unlocked his potential, not just as a scorer but as a complete offensive player. When Isiah Thomas made a similar assessment, fans praised the 12-time NBA All-Star for his insight.
Isiah Thomas believes in the Caitlin Clark effect
In her recent win over the Wings, Clark and Kelsey Mitchell both scored more than 30 points in the game. With averages of 19.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 8.4 assists, the Iowa Alum is making it difficult for her opponents to contain her. So a fan was grateful for Isiah Thomas pointing it out, “Everything he said was on point about Caitlin’s offensive game and developement. And how now everyone takes out running when CC gets the ball lol.”
In the previous game, she set the WNBA single-season assist record with 316 (and counting). In today’s game, she broke the 18-year-old rookie scoring record. Set by former No. 1 pick Seimone Augustus in 2006. A fan of grateful for Thomas for spending time watching the quality of Clark in real-time. “Whole time I’m listening I was like yep he watch the games. He ain’t just looking at box scores. You got NBA legends spending 2 hours of their time to watch the future 🐐”
In her first year as a pro, Clark has proven herself both as an elite passer and an elite scorer — something not many players are able to do. That’s what the fans wanted to hear, “Great breakdown. Fact based indeed.” Last month, during his regular Q and A on X, he was asked about his true feelings as a point guard towards Caitlin Clark. Using one word and three digits, “Straight 100.” Knowing that he is a regular viewer of the game, one fan wrote, “He gets it. This was great.”

Love this.” With Fever securing the 6th seed in the league, the games will just get tougher. Hopefully, Clark and Co. will continue to deliver for their fans.
