Is Rashad McCants right to call out Skylar Diggins-Smith for her 'diabolical' move?

The score and records in that Storm-Fever game are hardly in everyone’s consciousness. The only thing on our minds is the latest drama Caitlin Clark was ‘bumped’ into in her young career. And as usual, some vets in the NBA had things to say. In the closing minutes of the game, Clark fired up the crowd. But, in front of the Seattle Storm bench. It provoked Storm’s Skyler Diggins-Smith to (maybe, arguably, presumably) purposely bump into CC. If you ask Rashad McCants, it was intentionally diabolical of the Olympian.

McCants was on X after the game, resharing a fan-taken video of the incident. He directly tagged Diggins-Smith and wrote, “Man [Skyler Diggins-Smith] I know you didn’t speed up to bump into her like this!!!! Lmaoooo this is nasty work! Diabolical lol they really don’t like CC!!!

Diggins-Smith was walking off the floor while Clark was pumping up the home crowd. She seemed to speed walk into Clark and head to the Storm bench. That moment raised more than a few eyebrows. Some called Skylar petty and jealous of Clark. Others are defending her claiming it was not purposeful. McCants clearly falls in the former faction.

This has caused such a huge debate since the Chennedy Carter-Caitlin Clark debacle months ago, overshadowing the high points of this game. Clark led the Fever to a 92-75 victory, extending their winning streak. And individually, she broke the WNBA rookie assists record with a game-high 9 assists tallying upto 226 this season to go with her 23-point outing.

If anyone’s curious, Diggins-Smith made 15 points, 5 assists and 4 rebounds in the game. Yet scores and stats are hardly up for debate. Some even accused Storm of sabotaging Clark’s record.

The entire situation is only riling up CC’s big fan in the NBA who is feeling prophetic.

Rashad McCants campaigns for MVP Caitlin Clark

Rashad McCants has been in the #1 WNBA draft pick’s corner from day one. It got compelling last month when he declared that Clark already has WNBA Rookie of the Year in the bag. But piled on saying that she could make MVP as a rookie too.

Tonight many fans accused Storm of pulling their starters with the hope that Fever would pull Clark and she wouldn’t reach the double-digit assist record in three straight games. Clark played, made a record and put Indiana seventh in overall WNBA standings and is in position for a playoff spot.

It’s made the Timberwolves legend get into “Shadstradamus” mode and call the MVP race in favor of Clark. He doesn’t think there’s much that can stop her now, debatable or not.
