The push by Chennedy Carter on Caitlin Clark opened up the discussion on whether the WNBA dislikes Clark. The former Iowa Star has openly been vocal about her struggles in the league. Dallas Wings’ star player Satou Sabally had shared her viewpoint on Clark and the rest of the players in the W. She also is unhappy about how the narratives and story are only about the Indiana Fever #22 with very little focus on other players, especially Aliyah Boston.

Sabally called out what she felt was wrong with the entire Caitlin Clark situation. She sensed that the new fans were constantly pitting Clark against the veterans. While Clark has never dissed the veterans publically, Sabally thinks the rookie could have done more to promote her own teammates. She also gave a recent example to justify the situation.

You know what annoys me is when Caitlin only dropped 3 points against New York. The whole conversation was around that and not around a team with great players,Satou Sabally said, via Podcast P with Paul George. Clark had one of the worst days on the court when she scored only 3 points. Even when the Fever performs well, Aliyah Boston gets ignored which did not sit right with Sabally.

The Wings’ second pick in the 2020 WNBA draft wants Clark to stand up more for her teammates. She said, “Maybe now Caitlin can use her voice or like her social media to support your teammates too.” Boston is yet to hit peak performance from last season which earned her the Rookie of the Year award. Her average points are down from 14.5 to 10.3, also her rebounds have decreased from 8.4 to 6.6 per game. The forward has a reduction in her shooting percentage as well. From 57.8 FG% now she is shooting at 41.7%.

Moving on, it is no secret that Clark and the Fever are one of the most-watched teams in the league. The Fever have seen an average of 15,886 fans across their 11 games — both home and away — which is over 4,000 more than the next highest team (the New York Liberty at 11,239).

While on the topic, Sabally also was quick to acknowledge the lack of support for Clark on the court during the foul. Thus, leading to people speculating if all was right in the Fever camp.

The Caitlin Clark effect is not real?

While the Indiana superstar might have won the Rookie of the Month award. Sabally feels there are better players in the league who are performing and going under the radar. She also described Clark’s performance in comparison to Candace Parker who won the MVP in her rookie season.

She’s not coming in and destroying everyone. Like, Candace Parker got the MVP in her rookie season and she far from that right now from what it looks like.” Sabally also disliked the fans’ sentiment of Clark being the only face of the W. Plus, she also felt that the disrespect of the veterans was happening way too often. She also opposed the notion of “a new fan and trying to say, you should be thankful (to Clark).”

According to Sabally, there was nothing to be thankful for and even gave an example of Charter plane service which has been wrongly credited to Clark. “I mean I’m sorry but we have been pushing Charters for years now and it was supposed to happen probably most likely this year.” But does Clark have any issues with Aliyah Boston?

Me and Aliyah are just trying to learn on the fly, get to know each other on the fly. I think you’ve already seen a lot of improvement, especially out of the pick-and-roll. It’s hard; I think I saw something where I’ve been blitzed on ball screens more than any other team has been blitzed combined, so everyone is trying to learn out of that,” said Clark, per Kareem Copeland on X. Seems like things are okay between Clark and Boston.
