Scottie Pippen was not just Michael Jordan‘s Chicago Bulls teammate but also his close friend. They shared the court and left an indelible mark on the league. However, their bond has taken a drastic turn over the years, leaving fans wondering what brought on the schism between the two basketball titans.

Scott Williams, who captured three titles with Michael Jordan’s Chicago Bulls said in an interview that Pippen is actually jealous of Jordan’s success and notoriety.

Jordan and Pippen have been openly fighting, with Pippen speaking the most. Scott Williams wants the two sports greats to come together. Williams said that he doesn’t comprehend Pippen’s anger at Jordan.

Scott Williams said, “I get it as Michael Jordan financed the documentary, and I’m sure he stirred a little bit towards himself because of that, but he gave Pippen the ultimate compliment that he was my favorite teammate of all time, and without Scottie I don’t win the six championships. So I don’t understand what more he really wanted from Michael that Michael didn’t give him that is considered a slight”.

Netflix released “The Last Dance” a highly regarded documentary series that details Michael Jordan’s remarkable career, in 2020. MJ included Scottie Pippen among the former teammates in the series’ interviews.

However, in his memoir “Unguarded”,  Pippen voiced his displeasure with the film and claimed that it overemphasized Jordan’s accomplishments while undervaluing those of himself and his teammates.

The 6x NBA champion accused MJ of exploiting his difficult past to enhance the narrative.

He emphasized Jordan’s propensity to put individual performance ahead of the team and take risky shots while describing Jordan as a lousy teammate. Jordan’s individual brilliance overshadowed their success as a team when they actually came together, according to Pippen.

Michael Jordan has kept mute about the troubles with his former teammate despite all of Pippen’s comments over the last two years. It’s just an upsetting episode in the tale of one of the greatest basketball teams ever.

Williams promoted his memoir “Through the Fire” in his HoopsHype interview, which tells the story of his later career and life. He chose MJ above “The King” as the best player of all time and thinks their beef will continue.
