Magic Johnson is considered the greatest point guard to ever play the game by many. He was the number one pick in the NBA draft in 1979 and was picked by the Los Angeles Lakers. A lot has been said about his time at the Lakers but not many know about the university responsible for developing Magic into the world class player that he was. He recently took to social media to congratulate his university football team on their recent achievement.

Magic Johnson was part of the famed Michigan State basketball team. He showcased his brilliance as a ball handler and also as a pure scorer. He scored an impressive 511 points in the NCAA championship as a freshman. And it seems like Michigan State is carrying on his legacy of greatness.

Magic Johnson is one of the most active basketball personalities on the social media. He has a massive following of 5 million people on X. It’s quite evident that Magic is keeping up to date with the latest happenings of the sporting world as he was spotted congratulating his alma mater in a social media post.

Johnson tweeted, “Spartan Nation, I want to wish @Coach_mtucker and our entire @MSU_Football team a successful season and victory in their home opener vs. Central Michigan Friday night! Go Green, Go White!”

Michigan State started the season with a band against Central Michigan. Magic would certainly be hoping that MSU brings the NCAA title home. It’ll be interesting to see if Michigan can do the impossible and win the silverware.

Incidentally, several months back Magic was met with the devastating news of his teammate from Michigan State passing away. He took to social media and expressed his condolences.

Amidst all the excitement and media frenzy ahead of the All-Star game earlier this year Magic received an awful news of one of his old teammates passing away. Magic wrote on X, I’m devastated over the loss of my MSU teammate Bob Chapman. Cookie and I are praying for the entire Chapman family.
