The fiery dispute between Shaquille O’Neal and Dwight Howard is on again! Following Howard’s appearance on The Gauds Show, Onsite shared a video clip from the episode featuring the 3x DPOY himself. The former LA Lakers star, in the clip, stated he made multiple attempts to end his beef with O’Neal but his efforts went in vain. In the IG video, however, there was a lot more that Howard had to say about his issues with Big Diesel. And the 4x NBA champ didn’t hold back either, responding in the comments.

I don’t beef with peons and u have no opportunities, Shaq commented on the IG post, shared by Onsite. But that was not it.

Shaq even went onto X to craft an impeccable response, Shaq style. He fired back on the platform with this:

Dwight Howard the fact u think I care about u is funny, but I won’t ever bring your name up again sensitive big man, a jokester that can’t take a joke. Won’t ever say your name again ever again. Have a great day and now u have been deleted. Have a great day. #inevercared #trustme,” O’Neal wrote on X.

This isn’t the first time these former Magic stars have clashed. Their beef dates back years, with Shaq frequently voicing his frustrations about Howard’s career moves.

The tension began in 2012 when Howard joined the Los Angeles Lakers, a team O’Neal had led to multiple championships. Things escalated in 2020 when Howard won his first and only NBA championship with the Lakers, a feat Shaq has repeatedly dismissed as insignificant compared to his four titles.

A big part of Shaq’s criticism lies in the comparisons drawn between the two players—first during their time in Orlando, then in Los Angeles.

And it’s not as if the 3x DPOY never attempted to settle his dispute with Big Diesel. At least he claims he did. During Dancing with the Stars, somebody said that they’re really close with Shaq… I said, ‘Hey, man, do you mind sending Shaq a message to try to figure out, like, yo, what’s up… Can we have a sit-down conversation?”

But apparently, all that Dwight feels he got in return from Shaquille O’Neal was disrespect. “He’s always had something to say. And you know there are times where I got enough and I’m like, yo Shaq just gotta stop,” the 8x All-Star said on The Gauds Show.

During his podcast appearance, Howard even opened up about years of criticism from Shaq. He claimed the tension stemmed from a misunderstanding.

What I hated the most is the fact that he always thought I was trying to be him or be like him,” Howard said. “But if I wanted to be you or be like you, shouldn’t you take that as a compliment? It shows how great you are as a player and a person.”

Despite his frustrations, Howard appeared willing to bury the hatchet. “All right, Shaq, I just never disrespected… But he’s always had something to say, and you know there are times where I got enough, and I’m like, yo, Shaq just gotta stop,” he explained.

Shaquille O’Neal claims he will never use Dwight Howard’s name again

The line was not drawn here too. Shaq went ahead to state that the fact that Howard thinks he even cares about the 3x DPOY is funny to him. Further highlighting D12 as a “sensitive” man, O’Neal established he’d never bring up his name.

“Won’t ever say your name again ever again. Have a great day and now u have been deleted,” the 4x NBA champ posted on X. But if you think Howard was going to take that lying down, think again.

The 3x Defensive Player of the Year came out swinging with a response dripping in the shade. “I know you care. Cuz yo insecure … been hating and talking … for 20 years.”

And he didn’t stop there. Howard turned up the heat, accusing Shaq of being jealous. “Jealous of Kobe, Penny, D-Wade. You jealous of Charles too. Go move around big lazy insecure …,” he wrote. With such serious allegations, it’s clear their feud is not ending anytime soon.
